There is a wide range of facilities, hotels, holiday villages, and fishing camps. Though to many, one of the main features are the Campement Villageois, which are rurally integrated Village Camps which allow your casual visitor a glimpse of the rich cultural and day to day life of the inhabitants of the region. The Casamance also possesses breathtaking landscapes, luxuriant vegetation, and a rich fauna. There are limitless opportunities for excursions such as bicycling, hiking, bird watching, fishing, as well as cultural encounters. To
the east
of Zig, the upper Casamance, less visited by tourists, is dotted with
lush forests and great hunting and fishing, is an area ripe for
exploration. There is little accommodation in most of the region
and to really explore the region is best with a guide (or at least a decent knowledge of the
local language).
